The view in this painting includes many shades of lush greens in a Tuscan countryside. We see a vineyard, Italian Cypress trees, and farmlands flanking rolling hills. All of this lushness appears beneath a dramatic blue and gray cloudy sky that hints of a storm. I enjoyed adding depth from the shadows that fall across the curving road meandering through the vineyards toward the farmland. This view is one I remember fondly from a time when I was traveling in Tuscany. The photo I painted from, was recently taken by my daughter-in-law when she was walking through the towns and villages there, last month. There are so many views like this in that region, just begging to be painted… how could I resist?
