This abstract was a knife painting and I so much love the rich colors of it, especially the orange that ties the deep red and bold blacks together. I’ve turned it all four ways trying to decide which way works best. It "reads" well each way but you might like it best turned one of the other ways than I’m showing here. Art is so subjective, especially abstract art. While it can be challenging to describe an abstract painting, I was especially pleased by the depth I was able to capture with my palette knife, adding the slashes and lines, suggesting form and shadows. Every time I look at it, I notice something else. That is what I'm told viewers notice as well, which makes it feel even more successful to this artist.
