Drama

$400.00

This is a painting of the most dramatic, vivid sky I have ever seen at the beach. I was at Topsail Island in North Carolina. There was a fire on the mainland which I’m sure must have contributed to the breathtaking nature of my view. I know that a painting could never completely capture the intense colors of that day, but I really did try. If you consider the palette, you'll find so many shades of blue, just as many of gray, orange, pink, peach and white. The power and emotion of the view is further enhanced by the elements I chose to include. Notice the amount of space the sky takes up on the canvas, and the contrast of the sea grasses to the left, which carry the sense that the viewer might be standing right beside them, sand underfoot. Observe the sky reflected in the breaking surf, carrying the colors from above and even including shades of purple. It was a pleasure to even attempt to recreate this view and I am confident it will one day find its way onto the walls of another lover of breathtaking skies.

  • Size : (w & h) 8 x 10 in
