Moving Through
The subject matter of this little painting is one of my most contested of my paintings, by the people in my close circles. Which amuses me. I painted this from a photo of clouds on a day when it was my intention to create an abstract. So it’s a landscape painting of clouds, but through an abstract lens. However, I’m told by more than one person that it looks like you’re looking up at the clouds not while standing on land, but from below the water’s surface. At least one person feels this emphatically. And I love that about art, don’t you? The way we get to make our own interpretations based on what we see? Nonetheless, the only reason it appears within my "Waterscapes" portfolio is because so many people believe that is what it is. But to me, it is an abstract landscape!
